Course Description
EXT 100 | Externship I: Simulated Externship Scenarios Total: 160 Clinical Hours on site at ADOM This course offers students an immersive simulated externship designed to mirror real-world ultrasound practice. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students perform hands-on scanning using live volunteers and simulation models, with select procedures demonstrated on cadavers when available. The curriculum emphasizes practical applications of sonography across diverse settings, integrating scanning techniques, image interpretation, procedural preparedness, and collaborative workflows. Students focus on image acquisition, system operation, interpretation, and professional communication in patient-facing scenarios. Through structured simulation and supervised scanning, students build clinical confidence, refine technical skills, and strengthen diagnostic precision, preparing them for a successful transition into clinical externships and modern healthcare environments.
