Course Description
DMSVTD 430 | Pre-Clinical Mastery Testing / Midterms Total: 16 Hours | E-Lecture: 2 Hours | E-Lab: 6 Hours | On Site Lab: 8 Hours This course immerses students in hands-on testing, allowing them to demonstrate their proficiency in performing comprehensive ultrasound evaluations across multiple anatomical areas, including the abdominal aorta and branches, liver and hepatic vasculature, gallbladder and biliary system, pancreas, kidneys, spleen, extracranial cerebrovascular structures, and thyroid. Students will be assessed on their ability to interpret diagnostic criteria, apply imaging techniques, and adapt their approach based on patient-specific needs. Passing this portion of the program is a prerequisite to continue to clinical sites, ensuring that students have the necessary technical skills and clinical reasoning before engaging in real-world patient care. This practical testing phase reinforces the connection between skill development, clinical application, and patient well-being. By refining their ability to obtain accurate diagnostic images efficiently and comfortably, students contribute to early detection, preventative care, and overall health optimization, highlighting the role of ultrasound in promoting wellness and reducing the need for more invasive procedures.
