Course Description
DMSVTD 520 | Ultrasound of Reproductive Organs & Vasculature Updated Total: 80 Hours | E-Lecture: 24 Hours | E-Lab: 24 Hours | On Site Lab: 32 Hours This course provides comprehensive training in the ultrasound assessment of male and female reproductive organs and their associated vascular structures. Students will learn to identify normal pelvic and scrotal anatomy, monitor physiological cycles, and recognize common pathologies such as uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, testicular torsion, varicoceles, and pelvic inflammatory processes. The course emphasizes the diagnostic value of ultrasound in fertility evaluation, early detection of reproductive disorders, and ongoing clinical management. Through hands-on scanning and case-based interpretation, students will build technical proficiency in transabdominal and transvaginal (where applicable) approaches, as well as scrotal imaging protocols. Focus is placed on accuracy, anatomical correlation, patient safety, and respectful communication in sensitive clinical scenarios.
