Course Description
PHY 140 | Conceptual Physics Total: 4 Hours | E-Lecture: 4 Hours | E-Lab: 0 Hours | On-Site Lab: 0 Hours This course introduces the fundamental principles of physics with emphasis on conceptual understanding and real-world applications. Topics include motion, forces, gravity, thermodynamics, electromagnetism, optics, and sound. Students learn how physical principles influence medical technology and diagnostic imaging systems. Special attention is given to acoustic physics and how sound waves interact with biological tissues. The course focuses on developing intuitive understanding of physical laws rather than advanced mathematical derivations, providing students with the conceptual framework necessary for understanding ultrasound and other diagnostic technologies.
